People with disabilities want to be self sufficient and as independent as possible. Green Rose Productions is helping create more resources for people with disabilities to nurture themselves. The resources include community events, plays, and productions.
Executive Director and Founder Rosalinda Verde Alexander has been producing shows and entertaining people for most of her life. Rosalinda has spent the last ten years writing original play productions with the special needs community. Her work as the Performing Arts Director at a school for adults with developmental disabilities has prepared her for taking Green Rose Productions to the next level. She has written and produced plays called, "The Greatest Christmas Telethon Ever", "Pop Rocks, Fame and Fortune,", "Planet Poochie", and the kids sing along, "Magical Funtasy".
Green Rose Productions arts projects are all designed with serving the special needs community through the arts.
This is Carlos the chicken. Carlos is an actor, rapper, dancer, beat boxer and has down syndrome. He has a smooth rap game and dresses up in massive amounts of style. He is one of many actors that participates in Green Rose Productions events. The company works to create plays and art shows that help persons with disabilities shine on stage and through their artistic platforms.
Rosalinda holds online forums each week in which she meets with the muses of Green Rose Productions, to write scripts, to plan events, and to imagine the world as a better place. Check out the Tree House at Camp Alexander, a YouTube television show aimed to help children expand their imaginations and to expose them to people of extraordinary abilities.
The show was filmed in 2020 during the pandemic.
